Mother’s Day For Single Mums

Mother’s Day For Single Mums

We are in the middle of mother’s week and I want to wish all
the mums out there a happy mother’s day! I think women are
seldom appreciated in the current society, despite the many
challenges they face each and every day.

Another group that is always looked down upon is the single
mums out there. I was listening to a discussion about this on
a local f.m station about single mothers. I was very happy about
what they were talking about which was about appreciating
single moms this mother’s week.

As you can imagine a lot of people who called in to contribute to
the discussion were single mums. One woman called in and gave
her heart wrenching experience in high school.

Here is the story,

Let us call this lady Jane. Back when she was in high school, Jane had
a close friend who is a boy, let us call him Mark. So Mark and Jane
were close friends who used to spend a lot of time with each other
and play around as friends. One day, Mark went over the board and
raped Jane.

A couple of months later, Jane realised that she was pregnant. She is
the last born in her family. All her other siblings who are older than her
had no drama compared to her and none of them had gotten pregnant
out of wedlock.

You can imagine the uproar she caused at home when her parents
realised that she was pregnant. They went berserk and it was too much
for her to handle. Jane ran away from home and walked more than 20
kilometres away from home.

As she was running away from home however, she had an epiphany and
decided to go back home after realising that her mother had supported
her and that running away from home would not help anything.

Now, she has forgiven the boy who raped her, she has forgiven herself
and her parents have learned to accept her and support the child. She is
as happy as can be. Jane wanted to encourage other single mums out
there that it is not the end of life when you get pregnant and the man
who got you pregnant does not want to take responsibility.
I also want to resound the same fact. Happy Mother’s Day Single Mums!

Here are some reasons that i have found to contribute to the rise in cheating incidences or secret love affairs that are rising at an alarming rate;

1. Greed; Most of the people in a relationship that end up having an affair are simply greedy or selfish. We have become a people that are focused on what my partner can do for me rather than what can i do for my partner.

Take an example of… Read the full post

How To Deal With The Older Woman

7 May

In my previous post i wrote about how to deal with the older man or older men in general. Today i will address how to deal with the older woman or older women in general.

The older woman, in turn, might seek out the younger man because: she is single while other women her age are already married; she may be a widow and shunned by her society; she may be looking for fun, companionship, or an escort rather than marriage; or, with her biological clock ticking in the background, she might feel that time for her to… Read the full post

Tips To Dating Older Men

6 May

Here are the continuation of tips to dating older men from my previous blog post;

The rich life experience that an older man brings into a relationship is one draw for young women such as Ashcroft. However, in most cases, young women who marry men much older than them are consciously seeking to gain the love of a father figure, often because they missed such love when they were growing up, says Mary, a counselor at Mzima Springs Counseling Centre in Nairobi.

“She will go for the first elderly man who looks like the father she would have… Read the full post

How To Handle Bad Bedroom Manners

5 May

bedroom mannersRemember the good old days when going to bed was the time you spent alone with your partner to talk about your day, get cuddly, and maybe more?

But in these hi-tech times, it isn’t surprising if you share your bedroom with a mobile phone, satellite TV, DVD player, countless remote controls, and even a computer- to say nothing about your kids and assorted pets. There’s a chance you have a decidedly non-sexy pile of mouldy sports and workout paraphernalia tucked into a corner and waiting for a… Read the full post

How I Saved My Marriage (A Personal Account)

5 May

Two years ago, I would have told you that I had no idea how to save my failing marriage. Back then, my wife and I were practically enemies.

We couldn’t talk about simple household matters without it escalating into full-blown confrontations. The back-and-forth exchange of criticism was brutal; we could no longer see each other in a remotely positive light.

Eventually, things came to a head when we were having yet another argument during a family reunion. Given everything that had been building up, all my logic went out the window during that particular moment.

In a very loud voice, I went into… Read the full post

5 May

Here is how you can turn on your intuition. Have you ever felt frightened or anxious when walking out alone? Have you ever had a bad feeling about something you are about to do? Or have you ever had that nagging feeling deep down about the new guy you met?

Intuition- also known as sixth sense; is the ability to get a sensation, vision or feeling about someone or something. Intuition communicates with us through symbols, feelings and emotions. It usually does not speak to us in clear language.

It is something everyone has but, is much stronger in the woman. For… Read the full post

How To Handle Dating Older Guys

I continue with my series on loving against the flow. In my previous blog post i covered why people who have a large age gap between themselves opt to hook up with each other. Today i will dig deeper into this point.

When there is an age gap of more than 10 years or so between partners, chances are that they are experiencing separate developmental stages, explains Emmy who is a clinical psychologist. That means that each partner’s needs, perceptions, and priorities can be very different, producing potentially serious conflict… Read the full post
